Fun Candy Train Craft

Need some fun Ideas for the kiddos winter break?  Well back in the day not so long ago when my kids were tiny and their winter school break was not so much a break (at least not for me) I would search for ideas to fill our days by creating crafts to keep us all somewhat entertained, ahh… the good ole days.

Todays craft is a very memorable one.  My eldest was in Elementary and my youngest still home when we first made these candy trains.  The years go by so quick but I still enjoy making these trains today!  They are so simple to make, they look very cute and are definitely a treat.  This is bound to be a family favorite, so gather your little people and let’s get crafty.  For the little ones I recommend using glue dots instead of the glue gun.

Materials needed:

Hot glue gun and glue sticks or Glue Dots

Chewing Gum

Lifesavers Rolls

Caramel Squares

Hershey’s Kisses

Starlight Candy

Step 1. Begin by gluing the lifesaver roll to the chewing gum.

Step 2. Glue the caramel square to one end of the lifesaver roll and the Hershey’s kiss to the opposite end of the lifesaver roll; adjust them to your liking.

Step 3. Now it’s time to glue the “wheels”. Glue the starlight candies to the gum pack and ta-da!  Such an easy and fun craft, right?

And now I am going to suggest you make some hot cocoa.  Serve it in some cute little mug, top it off with a generous swirl of whipped cream, take some finely crushed Starlight candy and sprinkle a little over the top.  Now gather your peeps and watch, “The Polar Express”.  What a prefect way to end the day…Enjoy!
